Ban people for posting Ads in Forums!

I would like to request that you ban the Agency represented by Leyton and bashi. These individual are, constantly, posting ads in the forums and just being a flat out pain in the ass. Please, inform them of the consequences of the violation of the rules and ban them if the violate them again.
Many people have vote against them for this practice and I know more than just I want them gone. Thank you. |

Like Paul, I think it would be nice if advertising were kept to the appropriate place. Perhaps a warning, in simple language, before a ban would be fair as some of these people clearly do not have a good understanding of English grammar which may affect how they are posting in some way.
Or...adjust the voting system to add a method that classifies the reason for the vote. Anybody that gets into (certain) negative numbers of reputation for "posting inappropriate advertisements" gets banned automatically by the system. This serves to give plenty of warning to the poster as well as put some power in the hands of voters and possibly save some admin time. Additionally, it will give all of us a column with reasons for why we receive votes (+ or - ). One reason such a voting system would be nice in regard to the same subject: About a month ago, I politely told someone who posted an ad in the forums, something like: "thank you for the ad info and welcome to the discussion, but please post ads in the appropriate section because ads posted in the forums may be irritating to some people who may vote against you, causing you to lose your ad placement in your area to those with higher reputation." I only posted, I did not vote against them. The next day, my post got a negative vote. The conclusion is that some people must like ad posts in the forums or they wouldn't vote against a post politely advising that such ads be placed in proper places. On the whole a very curious situation. I would have loved to see a reason for the punishing vote that penalized several points of reputation. In any case, just an idea =) |

not always but many times it is easy to figure out who voted. A majority of the time MOST people log in and do all their forum at one time. If you check the log in times you can narrow it down quite easy and some times it is the only person who has logged in.

I am sure that if an Agency is giving out negative votes that may be the only thing they are doing so a log in and voting would not show up, in the way you explained the votes. Our profiles show when we do "Updates" so that means posting something. I don't think a vote or log in show up. Any way I don't want to know who is voting or how. A Vote is something that should be kept private, just like my vote in an election. |

Kitty, I never paid much attention but you are correct that the log in shows up. It has not always been like that so I guess I never noticed the change. I always looked at the update line.

I agree, especially those horrible ads that agencies post! Ads are to be placed where they are supposed to be placed..oh!And when you first sign on here you get 50 private messages from agencies...aaarrgghhh! Desperation!!! I can't stand it!
