I am sure that many of we Hobbyists have gone through the ads and found hundreds of expired ad and just as many with no activity and multiple reports on no activiy or incative phone and email information.

I have posted threads in the Web Site Request Forum for something to be done about all the old expired ads on this site. It slows down the servers, taking up space that could be used for other things or just to increase the speed to navigate on this site.

So...I am asking all Hobbyists who come upon old expired Ads and Profiles to submit a review on that person say the ad is old and expired and needs to be removed. If the Lady who has poste the ads doesn't care enough to check or care about her ad, WHY should those of us who are active have to put up with the problems the old ads cause?

I'm pretty sure I'm going to piss of Site Admin but this problem has existed before I was a member and continues to exist today. So I am asking for help. Thank you.

I like your attitude, Tone. Let us hope that many more Hobbyists will join in and possibily some of the Ladies. I'm sure, there must be old profiles of Hobbyists as well. Less garbage on the servers means a faster web site. I had to open a second window to write these responses as the orgional web page is still locked up trying to log me out.

This is Crazy!!!

Count me in on the cleanup. It should've been done yrs ago as many Hobbyists & Escorts have not logged-in for yrs, are retired, do not actively participate in any of the SEA forums, or do not even escort anymore. It seems as if these ppl join & then do nothing: wot's the point in joining & registering if U don't have any intention of participating? I would'nt even bother contacting an escort w/an expired ad or that had'nt logged-on EVER!

Paul, the problem with server productivity is not connected with the number of ads we store in our database. We do have some serious issues with our server and will solve them soon.

As to user experience, we do not list expired ads among active ads in ad categories or among search results. So the only way you can encounter an expired ad is by following a link in user profile or by using google or other SE for searching our site. All expired ads have got a red warning on top of the page, so the people who read them always know that the information presented may be obsolete.

Michael, we do delete inactive hobbyists from time to time. We leave all escort and agency accounts until they cancel membership themselves though.

Thanks, SA, for addressing this much-needed topic. I've seen MANY ads from both escorts & hobbyists alike that are ancient in that the escort or hobbyist HAS NOT logged-in for yrs. This is wot is so unsettling that these ppl join SEA then NEVER login again thereby wasting space. Wot's the point?

You must have seen old PROFILES, not ads, because hobbyists do not have ability to create ads... 2 years ago we cleaned the database and removed about 70% of old hobbyist accounts, those who had not logged in for a year or more, and whose only activity had been visiting the site (no forum posts, no blog posts etc.). I will probably repeat this operation in near future.
We need to keep those accounts who had shown some activity (sent emails, wrote some content etc.) for data consistency considerations.
You, guys, are the most active hobbyists here, you're the best, but we can't just discard all less active accounts. It will result in this site being transformed into forum with several active members. The main reason for keeping old ads is to drive substantial traffic(more indexed pages=more traffic from Google). Escorts who advertise here need a good traffic to this site, because traffic=clients=money. If we leave 1/10 of the pages and remove the rest 9/10 the traffic will drop 5 times or so. Who will win in this case?

YES. escort is my job not just a hobby. I get many many clients from this site and 99% of them have never posted any thing in the forum at all. some ask me about what I write in forum but many have never even read it.

Unlike most site this one is real and not just talk. Most men for whatever reason dont want to put many words on the net but that dont mean they are not using the site.

Thanks Admin for the explanations which of course we do so understand like; the traffic issue - traffic=clients=money, the Ads and etc. We likewise appreciate your cleaning of the database, 2 years ago of the inactive accounts here.

I'm just disrurbed based on your explanations and may we be clarified? If a member here especially escorts who did not logged in for several years, can she/he still be an asset here due to her/his space occupied? Or do his/her clients pass their messages here on this site (to contribute to the traffic issue) even if she/he has not logged-in for years? If so, how can she/he read the message/s of the client if the escort doesn't log-in? Please explain to us further because I understand one of the major issue being raised here is the "no log-ins" of member escorts for more than 1 to 3 years which we are noticing in the profile database!

SA, we do not have any bad intent here as hobbyists relative to our querries and or issues. In fact we are thankful and appreciative of the features of this site which we members are enjoying. Ours maybe is just to further improve our already good site...our favorite site. Peace to all!

Good point, Dohm. None of us has any bad intentions, but it is unfair to those of us who do actively participate to see old ads that're obviously inactive just taking up space for no good reason.

SA, we can have an alternative here relative to the issue. Instead of deleting them, we will just encourage them to update their profiles by logging-in regularly and to be active in the other site activities like; personal blogs, e-mails, renewing ads and photo galleries, photo-ratings or adding interview to their profile (since many doesn't have) if they're not comfortable participating in the forums or writing articles. Active and other concerned members can also help in these endeavor by sending e-mails and or communicating to them through phone, encouraging them to do so as co-members here provided, their contact numbers or e-mail ads are genuine or still active as of now.

This way, we can avoid subtraction in our site membership (to maintain the traffic issue) but only maintenance and more additions since we observed lately, more new members are coming in.

OK, guys, thanks for these suggestions! I am currently working on this issue. There will be implemented a new feature that allow site members to hide all inactive members from photo rating, ad categories and search results.

I also removed over 30% of hobbyist accounts yesterday, those who had shown no activity for over 1 year.
