quote daka1 :
Is it OK to say something serious on the Humor thread?
OK, in a more serious vein. Even though my comments aren't funny, I'm posting here because the original post is here. Just some things to think about.
How we use humor sometimes reflects cultural or social prejudices.
Your last name stays put.
Aside from women keeping their original names... I knew a man who took his wife's name; some men take on a hyphenated addition when they marry; a few couples choose an entirely new last name.
You don't have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt.
Does this mean that women have to stop and think which way to turn a water faucet?
Same work, more pay.
Seriously, men should realize that they would make even more if there weren't a "reserve labor pool" of underpaid women. Improving conditions for women usually improves conditions for men, also.
One mood all the time.
As long as you don't suffer from post-traumatic stress syndrome...
You get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness.
It is a great shame that men are sometimes allowed to act like boors.
Everything on your face stays its original colour.
That's why they don't sell men's beard-coloring kits, eh?
You only have to shave your face and neck.
Not all cultures agree. I'm actually OK with women not shaving anywhere, if they want. BTW, I think underarm hair is sexy.
Sorry if I got too serious in the wrong place.
It's ok daka1; not a problem babe. I am not offended by your post and I'm not offended by rajputanarifles original post either. We all are different and we all are very precious. I wish for all of you to have peace and be blessed.
