I was watching a new program on the History Channel or Learning Channel or PBS who knows. But the import thing that these scientists mentioned, that Al Gore did not, is: The world is gong through a planetary climate change. This has happened in the past and will continue to happen in the future. We have had ice ages and ages of heat and deserts and, that's where we are headed.
By 2050 1/4 of the world will be under water. Water that used to be our polar ice caps. Rain will be less and snow will be in great shortage. Ergo: no water.
By 2150 they expect most of the planet to be a barren desert. So what do we do?
We change. We force the government and companies to start a serious re-cycling program. Plastics, metals, clothes, paper ann thing man made should be abled to be recycled.
The richest nations complain the most about under developed nations and their polutions. Well, how 'bout the developed nations going in and giving the technology to lower their pollution?
OH, Hell NO. That would mean they would have to share something that might save their ass. As long as they're safe who cares about the rest of us.
Come on people start writing letters to your electred officials. We can make a change.
Believe me, if you get on one elected official long enough and often enough and upset enough, but be polite, they will get you the info or start a program just to get rid of you.
I do it all the time. I'm on a 1st name basis with a lot of staff. I've over heard them say, " oh shit, what's he want now". It does work.
Perserve.
